Rass-O’-Nil® is the one-step steel rust preventive treatment nano-technology. Rass-O’-Nil deposits a conductive polymerized metallic phosphate nano-deposit. The Rass-O’-Nil Flexo nano-deposit protects metal from rust below finish coatings.
Powder-coating, e-coatings, electroplating, hot dip galvanizing and paint adhere better to the Rass-O’-Nil Flexo treated steel surface.
Rass-O’-Nil’s conductive deposit enhances electrostatic bonding for stronger coating adhesion. Rass-O’-Nil makes the metal treatment process faster, economical, and enhances the finish quality.
Rass-O’-Nil® Steel Treatment does not produce any waste and or need water. The Rass-O’-Nil steel treatment and pickling process saves water because rinsing is eliminated. Rass-O’-Nil Steel Treatment reduces carbon emission because the conventional seven tank process is replaced with a clean one-step process. The Rass-O’-Nil steel process eliminates all the hazardous/toxic chemicals, such as strong acid.
Rass-O’-Nil® Flexo Protects Metal
- The Rass-O’-Nil treated metal surface sealed with a finish coat withstood more than 900 hours of salt spray test and passed the 1.5 kg scratch test, and adhesion test.
- Rass-O’-Nil stringently satisfies ASTM B117 (USA) and IS: 13515-1992 (Indian Standard).
- The Rass-O’-Nil deposit does not come off from the steel even when the metal is bent up to 180°, punched, drilled or heated up to 400° C.
- Rass-O’-Nil treated metal surfaces, sealed with a finish coat, left in the open atmospheric conditions for years, do not allow corrosion beneath powder coating, e-coating, paint, and galvanizing.
Rass-O’-Nil Flexo Protects Steel in Saline Conditions
Rass-O’-Nil ® technology protects structural and fabricated steel surface and the finish coating from corrosion on ocean transit. Rass-O’-Nil enhances the coat’s adhesion to the metal and protects the metal from corrosion in harsh conditions.

Rass-O’-Nil Flexo conductive metallic deposit protects offshore and onshore steel infrastructure in hydrocarbon and maritime industry.
Rass-O’-Nil ® protects structural and fabricated steel and powder coating, e-coating, electroplating and paint from corrosion on ocean transit and weathering.

Rass-O’-Nil® Flexo treatment on the steel surface of oil wells and the plates of tanks helps the topcoat on the metal withstand aggressive weathering. Rass-O’-Nil® Flexo increases paint adhesion.
The Rass-O’-Nil® Flexo treated metal surface improves the metal life cycle during storage and transport of high sulphur content oil. Rass-O’-Nil treated inner surface of pipes helps improve the flow of oil inside the pipeline system.
Rass-O’-Nil Flexo Protects TMT Rebar in Concrete

TMT rebars in concrete start corroding causing spalling and cracking, and weakening the whole structure. Chloride from various sources penetrates to the rebar and the electrochemical process of corrosion starts. The rust expands up to four times its original volume and creates an internal pressure (about 4000 PSI), which severely damages the concrete.

RASS-O’-NIL FLEXO PREVENTS CORROSION IN CONCRETE:
Corrosion occurs when chloride penetrates through defects in a protective (passivating) oxide layer that is normally found on the reinforcing bars. A soluble complex of iron chloride forms and moves away from the bar and deposits expandable insoluble iron oxide in the concrete.
RASS-O’-NIL treatment cathodically blocks the corrosion action of chloride salt by its stabilized passivating deposits and repairs the defects that occur in the oxide structure, preventing chloride ions from penetrating to the pure iron.
Complex sacrificial protection through conductive mix metal oxide (ion) deposit to the rebar or structural steel’s micro-structure gives excellent protection from corrosion and improves the bond between concrete and steel. RASS-O’-NIL enriched conductive metal oxide (ion) is in electrical contact with a metal more noble in the electromotive series such as steel, a galvanic cell is established and electric current will flow when an electrolyte contact develops by metallic couple. RASS-O’-NIL is low cost per linear foot/ tonnage compared epoxy coated or galvanized reinforcing steel. Rass-O’-Nil Kover Technology was tried at Tata Steel under agreement.
Rass-O’-Nil Kover is applied in a one tank flash-dipping with turbulence or brush or spray coating on cooling bed at 60 degrees temperature.
RASS-O’-NIL ONE-STEP METAL TREATMENT TECHNOLOGY WAS TESTED AT TATA STEEL UNDER AGREEMENT:
“For several years — Tata Steel’s R&D and Roy Research and Technology made a joint effort towards the optimization of the chemical’s uses and physical testing for plant implementation for the development of the metal surface preparation and pre-treatment technology through lab and plant trial. This metal surface preparation and pre-treatment technology polymerised with a polymorphous character.
For several years — Tata Steel’s R&D invested considerable amounts towards adapting the new technologies and Roy Research and Technology has also invested certain amounts and time in developing these technologies.
After thorough testing at the lab and plant level, these new technologies were well which accepted by Tata Steel and Roy Research and Technology. The following are those technologies are the new developments of poly-phosphating and poly-metallic phosphate – Flexo and Galvo Technologies for HR, CR, Galvanneal, and tubes (hereinafter referred to as New Technologies.)” Excerpt from text of Agreement.
