Copper-free super conductive electrode wire with super welding properties which minimize smoke, gases and fumes and particulate of oxide and the health hazards for welders.
A joint venture of Roy Research and Technology and Tata Steel Ltd. to develop a clean and eco-friendly electrode wire for an alternative copper free electrode (WMAW & MIG welding) :
(a) with better welding performance
(b) better shelf life and corrosion resistance
(c) eliminating health hazards of welder.
The invention: A novel method for developing nano-particle deposited highly conductive electrode wire which minimizes the environmental and health hazards during welding operation. The clean electrodes are produced by the newly developed binary composite metallic ion deposition technology or nano-blanketing with metallic ions on the micro-structure of the electrode wire.
Objectives of the invented technology:
1) A method for developing nano-particle coated highly conductive electrode wire.
2) A method for deposited of nano-sized particle to be used in GMAW by adopting a procedure of binary composite metallic ion deposition or nano-blanketing of the surface micro structure of the electrode wire.
3) A nano-particle deposited welding rod which minimizes the environmental and health hazards posed by conventional Cu-coated electrode making process and welding operations, by developing novel eco-friendly, nano-particle coated electrodes.
4) A cost effective process to produce electrodes with desirable surface deposited.
